The meter reads directly in optical density od or percent transmission. This unit is untested as there is no power cord as is shown in the photos, you can see where the toggle switch has been added as well as the two other plugs. This system comes from a smoke free and pet free home.
It has also be modified to be both a analog and digital reader. The wave length is selected from the front panel switch and the dosimeter is placed in the holder and lowered into the well. The instrument is simple to use. The lamp has a long life and is easily replaced.
The instrument uses band pass filters, which have excellent long term stability, for wave length selection. The front panel controls are used to setup the instrument for operation. Talking with Far West Technology they estimate this unit would be valued at approximately 3,000.
This is a modified model fwt 91r reader which is a dual wave length photometer for readout of the fwt radiachromic dosimeters. Please see photos for condition and review comments in condition area. Thus, the increased shipping and handling charge. I have not seen another modified reader like this on.
The two wave lengths available are 510 NM and 600 NM and are used to cover the range of radiachromic dosimeters. It was acquired at a liquidation sale of a hi tech research company.
The x10 switch increases the sensitivity for reading high od dosimeters. This is a rare and hard to find system.
