( Brand: Eberline ), ( Part Type: Flow Counter Cylinder )
The Pac-4G-3 Counter Cylinders Gas Alpha Eberline Flow Beta Proportional is a high-performance, advanced metering solution designed for industrial and commercial applications. This product is a part of Eberline's Pac-4G series, known for their precision, reliability, and durability.
The Pac-4G-3 Counter Cylinders consist of a primary and secondary chamber, each equipped with a unique flow meter. The primary chamber features an Alpha gas flow meter, which is a positive displacement, diaphragm meter designed to accurately measure gas flow rates. It is capable of handling a wide range of gases, making it a versatile choice for various applications.
The secondary chamber houses a Beta proportional flow meter, which is a variable area flow meter. This meter uses an orifice plate to restrict the flow of gas, and a differential pressure transducer to measure the pressure drop across the orifice. The Beta meter adjusts the gas flow rate proportionally to the input signal, providing precise and stable flow control.
The counter cylinders are equipped with a digital display that provides real-time readings of the gas flow rate, total usage, and other relevant data. The display is easy to read, even in low light conditions, and features a large, clear digits for easy visibility.
The Pac-4G-3 Counter Cylinders are constructed from high-quality materials to ensure durability and resistance to corrosion. The cylinders are designed to withstand high pressures and temperatures, making them suitable for use in demanding industrial environments.
In conclusion, the Pac-4G-3 Counter Cylinders Gas Alpha Eberline Flow Beta Proportional is a high-performance, advanced metering solution that provides accurate and reliable flow measurements for industrial and commercial applications. Its dual flow meter system, digital display, and durable construction make it an ideal choice for applications that require precise flow control and monitoring.
Pros of buying Pac-4G-3 Counter Cylinders Gas Alpha Eberline Flow Beta Proportional:1. This is beneficial for applications that require precise control, such as injection molding or chemical processing.
2. Durability: The cylinders are made of high-quality materials, such as aluminum, which makes them resistant to corrosion and wear. This ensures a long lifespan and reduces the need for frequent replacements.
3. Easy Installation: The Pac-4G-3 counter cylinders are designed for easy installation, with clear instructions and easy-to-use components. This can save time and reduce installation costs.
4. Versatility: The Pac-4G-3 counter cylinders can be used in a variety of applications, including plastics processing, chemical processing, and food processing.
Cons of buying Pac-4G-3 Counter Cylinders Gas Alpha Eberline Flow Beta Proportional:1. Cost: The Pac-4G-3 counter cylinders can be more expensive than other types of flow control systems. This may be a limitation for budget-conscious buyers.
2. Complexity: The proportional control system can be more complex to understand and operate than simple on/off systems. This may require additional training or technical support.
3. Maintenance: While the high-quality materials used in the Pac-4G-3 counter cylinders can reduce maintenance needs, they may still require regular maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
Conclusion:The Pac-4G-3 counter cylinders offer several advantages, including precision control, durability, easy installation, and versatility. However, they can be more expensive and complex than other types of flow control systems. If precision and accuracy are critical to your application and you have the resources to invest in a high-quality system, the Pac-4G-3 counter cylinders may be a good option. If budget is a concern, you may want to consider other options that offer similar performance at a lower cost.
Recommendation:If you are considering buying the Pac-4G-3 counter cylinders, I recommend researching the specific application requirements and comparing the costs and benefits of different options. Consult with a technical expert to ensure that the system will meet your needs and provide the level of precision and control required. Additionally, consider the ongoing maintenance costs and the availability of technical support to ensure that you can effectively use and maintain the system over time.
Adding high voltage with its tendency to arc with propane and its tendency to ignite in a cozy little insulated cable sounds absolutely nuts, which is why I love this instrument even more. This is an astonishingly complete pac 4g 3 gas flow proportional counter set. It all comes neatly packed inside this aluminum kit, which is just awesome. Both counters work well, the probe works well, and there are two gas cylinders included.
One interior case has corrosion damage, which is why i'm including the second unit. It has a lin log display scale, which gives both alpha and beta counts so the display has two needles. This cable carries both a high voltage current and the propane based gas to and from the probe. The tests I did perform show it to be accurate within about a 15 range, which means I have no doubt it would pass the NRC calibration standards.
Regardless, the corrosion damage does not prevent the instrument from functioning. On this meter, the alpha count goes up to 500,000cpm and the beta count goes up to just 25,000cpm which is beyond adequate when doing true proportional counting. The gas seals are good. Since this is a true proportional counter, a sheet of paper placed between the probe and the source will drop the alpha count to zero while the beta count remains the same.
Since gm pancake probes dramatically over respond to beta radiation, the beta readings are useless without a calibrated absorbed set and special probe set up. They are easy to refill, but they have been previously refilled which nullifies their ability to be transported. There are many bits and pieces of these counters on, but never a complete set, working perfectly well, with cylinders and case plus speaker. The counter works well.
It has not been thoroughly calibrated as I don't have any plutonium to do that with. So you decide what to do wi them both, ha.
If you do want this instrument calibrated, it will have to be some time later on, as I only go up to the lab once or twice a month. That was the 4g 3 meter. It's a great setup for somebody interested in learning about gas proportional counting.
Eberline still has repair service and gas cylinders for these, because proportional counting is a vital skill.
It comes with a cp1 b u cable and connector. I'm not joking.
